A SYSTEM THAT WORKS
Hyde Landing addresses infrastructure opportunities head on, making the surrounding area function better than before through improved safety, traffic flow and framework for greater future investment. New sidewalks, bike lanes, and connection of trail networks will link private and public parkland and roadways.
Proposed solutions will address the past use of the property and the blighted property frontage by employing beautification strategies for Piscataway and Steed Roads. Problems on the intersection of Piscataway Road (MD223) and Steed Road will be remedied through reconfigured and added turn lanes. The project will also support expanded capacity on adjoining roadways and create an organized, thematic design—with a pedestrian emphasis.
Approximately 5 miles of additional Master Planned Roads (travel lanes constructed)
Approximately four miles of off-site public trails, on-street bike lanes, and sidewalks
Over 3,500 trees will be planted
Nearly 90 acres of woodland conservation within parks (passive) and open space
Approximately 140 acres of combined parks (passive and active) and open spaces
Contribution of approximately $2.5 million to the improvement of the Brandywine Road & MD 223 intersection CIP
